The Mac OS X Dashboard has been little attention lately and will not be long before it is removed from the operating system completely.

If you, as I, feel like it has outlived its purpose, here’s how to get rid of it.

Go to the Application Folder > Utilities and launch Terminal. When launched, type or paste the following commands into the Terminal window.

Remember to relaunch the Dashboard process by typing or copying the following into the Terminal window:

The Dashboard is now gone and you’ll never have to worry about those useless widgets again.

If you ever want to bring the Dashboard back, simply re-do the same commands above, only change the word true to false, and you’ll have it back.
