An Array Formula performs multiple calculations on one or more sets of values, the ‘array arguments’, and returns one or more results.

Entering an array formula:

  1. Select the cells where you want to see your results
  2. Enter your formula
  3. Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Excel fill each of the cells you selected with the result

Note: The curly brackets, { and }, are not entered by the user. Excel applies these after the user presses Ctrl+Shift+Enter.
