The ISTEXT function tests if a supplied value is text, and if so, returns TRUE; Otherwise, the function returns FALSE.

=ISTEXT(value)

Arguments

Argument Description
value The value argument can be supplied directly, or can be a value returned from a formula, or a reference to a cell containing a value
