The FLOOR.PRECISE function returns a number that is rounded down to the nearest integer or to the nearest multiple of significance.

  • This function was introduced in Excel 2010 and so is not available in earlier versions.

Syntax

=FLOOR.PRECISE(number,[significance])

Arguments

Argument Description
number The numeric value to be rounded
[significance] Optional. The multiple to which number is to be rounded

  If [significance] is omitted, its default value is 1

Note: Positive values are rounded towards zero, becoming less positive, and negative values are rounded away from zero, becoming more negative.
