Related Functions:

The CHISQ.INV.RT function returns the inverse of the right-tailed probability of the chi-squared distribution.

• This function was introduced in Excel 2010 and so is not available in earlier versions.
• CHISQ.INV.RT replaces the CHIINV function included in earlier versions of Excel.

### Syntax

=CHISQ.INV.RT(probability,deg_freedom)

#### Arguments

Argument Description
probability A probability associated with the chi-squared distribution
deg_freedom The number of degrees of freedom

Note: If probability = CHISQ.DIST.RT(x, … ), then CHISQ.INV.RT(probability, … ) = x.

• Use this function to compare observed results with expected ones in order to decide whether your original hypothesis is valid.
