The LARGE function returns the k-th largest value in an array or a range of cells containing numerical values.

Syntax

=LARGE(array,k)

Arguments

Argument Description
array The array or range of data for which you want to determine the k-th largest value
k The position, from the largest, in the array or cell range of data to return

Examples

10 =LARGE(A2:B6,3) 18 3rd largest number in the data set A2:B6
11 =LARGE(A2:B6,8) 13 8th largest number in the data set A2:B6

Note: If n is the number of data points in a range, then LARGE(array,1) returns the largest value, and LARGE(array,n) returns the smallest value.
