The WEBSERVICE function returns data from a web service on the Internet or Intranet.

  • This function was introduced in Excel 2013 and so is not available in earlier versions.

Syntax

=WEBSERVICE(url)

Common Function Error(s)

Problem What went wrong
#VALUE! Occurs if either:

  the arguments are unable to return the data
  the arguments result in a string that is not valid or that contains more than the allowable cell limit of 32767 characters
  the url contains more than the 2048 characters that are allowed for a GET request
  the url contains unsupported protocols, such as ftp:// or file://
