Does not involve lavish decorations.
These are demonstrations
Of excess wealth, without merit.

My idea of Holiday Spirit
Does not involve presents sent
To either a lady or a gent,
No matter how ornate.

Holiday Spirit faces the blight
Of poverty and paints a bright
Spot on the soul, leaving behind
Hearts amazed that Man is kind.

Helping those less fortunate
Is my idea of Holiday Spirit.
