Two Different Types of Books

Non-fiction
A nonfiction book contains factual information, such as a biography or a history text. Nonfiction books include the following:
- Biographies are generally non-fiction works. The reason we say “most” biographies is that a biography of a fictitious character is truly a fictional work.
- Considering that the Diary of Anne Frank is both nonfiction and a journal, it qualifies as a nonfiction journal.
- Since dictionaries and encyclopedias contain facts about words, they are classified as nonfiction.
- Nonfiction books include travel guides and atlases.
- “How to” books that teach real skills, such as the classic Betty Crocker Cookbook, are considered factual.
Fiction
for fiction books, such as romances or children’s books, to contain a story that the author has concocted. Among the most commonly read works are those that are fiction. Some of their elements may be based on truth, but they have been embellished, fabricated, and embellished to create a new story.
